We’re so excited to share that The Drop Project President, Cypress Cohen, was recently featured in the Babcock Ranch Telegraph! The article highlights the efforts of the Babcock High School Interact Club and their mission to raise funds for Water4Life Mozambique, helping bring clean water to communities in need.
This wasn’t just a one-time project. It’s become a passion and a movement, led by students who saw a problem and decided to do something about it.
💧 It Started with a Question
It all began when Interact Club president and Drop Project founder Cypress Cohen attended an Earth Day event in Babcock Ranch and learned about the water crisis in Mozambique. That single moment sparked something bigger. She brought the idea back to the club, and from there, the students took off running—setting up donation tables at Food Truck Fridays, outside of Publix, and at school events.
They’ve already raised over $8,000—enough to fund their first well, which will provide clean water for over 1,200 people. That’s not just a number. That’s lives changed, families protected, and girls who now have the chance to go to school instead of walking miles for water.
👟 Real Action. Real Growth.
This project has been about more than just raising money. It’s helped students step into leadership, discover the power of their voices, and connect with a global cause. As Cypress shared in the article, “It’s easy to feel like one person can’t make a difference, but when we come together with a common goal, we can literally change lives.”
We couldn’t agree more.
✨ Why It Matters
In Mozambique, many women and children spend hours each day walking for water—often dirty, contaminated water that leads to illness. Each well built through Water4Life Mozambique gives a village access to clean, safe water, bringing better health, more time for school, and new opportunities.
Seeing our students step up to help change that reality has been nothing short of inspiring.
